It is a part of the Galveston metropolitan area. The LaMarque Teen Biz Camp is in partnership with the City of LaMarque and facilitated by Councilman Christopher Lane. Christopher Lane's desire to improve the lives of youth in the City of LaMarque is reflected in the different types of programming he's implemented to promote financial literacy, entreprenurship, and economic empowerment. “Just like we have a culture of football in La Marque, my goal is to create a culture of financial literacy and entrepreneurship,” said Councilman Chris Lane. “We need to introduce these concepts at a young age and help our youth understand it isn’t how much money you make, it’s how much money you keep.”  - Christopher Lane About Houston Community College- Office of Entrepreneurial Initiatives: The Office of Entrepreneurial Initiatives was established to build and sustain the Houston business community. Our mission is to support innovative ideas by students, business-owners, and supporters in the community to guide for business-generation and job creation.
