4-H Fishing Project

  What: The 4-H fishing project encourages youth to get outside and learn the art of fishing. They will learn about different fishing equipment, fish species, knots, rigging, and casting. Each fishing trip they take they will record weather, water conditions, and their catch. Want more? attend the optional project fishing days listed below. Who: Open to youth ages 5-19 Cost: Free for current SC 4-H Members; $10.00 for Non-Members Upstate Fishing Events (optional): Youth from other regions are welcome to participate in any fishing days, camping trips. All events are free unless marked otherwise. Bring your fishing pole, tackle, Fishing log and any other equipment you want to use to each event. Some group supplies may be available for use depending on the event. Long Lake (Black Bottom Rd, Union) 8AM-10AM July 8rd                  Stream Study & Water Quality Tyger River Park Bank (3200 Walnut Grove Rd, Roebuck, SC  29376) 8AM-Noon July 17th                Make Your Own Bate Boat Landing Dr, Gaffney, SC 29341 8AM-10AM July 24st                Canoe and Cast Lake Blalock Park Boat Ramp (E Cadence CT Chesnee, SC 29323) 8AM-10AM August 7th            Final Summer Cast  Foster Park Pond (Foster Park Lake Dam D-2155, Union, SC 29379) 8AM-10AM   There may be an optional fly fishing trip in the fall for fishing project participants.
