Survivors Supporting Survivors TEEN SUPPORT GROUP When: Monday, March 13th, 2017 Time: 6:00PM- 8:00PM Where: Wahooz Family fun zone (1385 S Blue Marlin Ln, Meridian, ID 83642) Who: Any young adult between the ages of 13-18yrs who has been diagnosed with cancer. Your children do NOT need to have participated in camp or our Survivors Supporting Survivors support group to attend This month is FEAR... Our meeting will address it. Recognize it and provide coping mechanisms to tackle it. Our teens will gather and talk about what scares them and what their peers have found to help. This beautiful group of friends who are there each month with each other to support but also to push and that is what will conclude the evening! They will team up and take on the Sky Trail Ropes Course! What is the Sky Trail Ropes Course? Only a three story high ropes course that will allow climbers to explore new heights as they maneuver through 34 adrenaline-pumping challenges. The High Ropes course challenges like this puts climbers in positions that cannot be worked through individually. Each team will have to work together and communicate effectively to get through each challenge. Teams will experience conflict and will have to engage in conflict resolution and proper decision making to get through the course. These courses Boosts self-confidence a great deal. The challenges of the course help instill positive personality characteristics like self-esteem and trust in the climber. By pushing you to reach certain personal achievements within the course, self-confidence is built and strengthened. The course expands climbers comfort zones and introduces situations that may help them conquer certain fears, as well as enhance their trust in their teammates.
