A three day youth led event for people to come together and educate one another on organizing, activism and social change. Workshops, music, great food and more in an affirming space for all. Here's the schedule so far for this year. We'll keep updating it as more workshops are confirmed! Day One: 11:00: Arrival 12:00: Snacks, Meet and Greet 1:00-2:20: Opening and Ice Breakers 2:30-4:00: Safer Sex with Quinn from Mid-Coast Queer Collective Maine Students for Climate Justice Workshop 4:10-5:40: LBTQ Women/Women Aligned People’s Space with Olivia from Pine Tree Youth Organizing and Maine Students for Climate Justice Health-care/self-care workshop Maine Students for Climate Justice Retreat Space 6:00-7:00: Dinner 7:30: Open Mic Day Two: 7:30-8:30: Breakfast 8:30-8:50: Opening and Icebreaker 9:00-10:30: Islamophobia with the Lewiston High School Civil Rights Team 10:40-12:10: Ray Luc: Can't Jail the Spirit: Political Prisoners, Mass Incarceration and the Question of Abolition Consent-amory and Relationship-styling with Alianne from Mid-Coast Queer Collective and Pine Tree Youth Organizing 12:10-1:10: Lunch and PTYO hangout 1:20-2:50: Queer Liberation with Olivia, Alianne, and Chandler Luke Sekera: Poland Spring = Stolen Spring, A History of Water Theft and Colonization in Western Maine: From the Perspective of a 12 Year Old Activist 3:00-4:30: Race with Lewiston High School Civil Rights Team Sheri Mitchell, Indigenous activist with Land Peace Foundation 4:50-6:00: Future of the YAG planning and discussion 6:00-7:00: Dinner 7:30: Down to Earth Storytelling Movie Showing Day Three: 7:30-8:30: Breakfast 8:30-8:50: Icebreaker 8:50-10:20: Intersectional Feminism with Alyssa from Pine Tree Youth Organizing and Maine Students for Climate Justice Youth Movement Building with Christine from Pine Tree Youth Organizing 10:30-12:00: How to start a GSTA with Brianna Acceptance in school for people who don't identify either as cis-gender or heterosexual with Jade Maine Students for Climate Justice Retreat Space 12:00-1:00: Lunch 1:00-2:00: Writing Letters to political prisoners 2:00-3:30: Work that Reconnects with Sylvia Maine Students for Climate Justice workshop Closing Circle and Clean Up Food and sleeping arriagnments included. Suggested donation $0-20 or more if you can afford it. No profits are made for this event and all money made goes to covering the event.
