:::Teen Belly Dance Camp 2016::: REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 1st on SirenaStudio.com Limited to 12 Participants Teen Belly Dance Camp is a week long intensive for young women ages 13-18. Throughout the week, we will learn about the history of belly dance, do exercises to inspire creativity and self-expression, and of course...dance! Different styles of belly dance will be introduced through hours of drills and practice, forming into a choreography that participants will have the opportunity to perform at the end of the week in a safe and supportive environment (performance optional). We will also study Middle Eastern music and become acquainted with the rhythms that are so fun to dance to! Not only is belly dance a GREAT form of exercise, it is also a great way to make friends and become part of a community. It promotes self-confidence and a higher awareness of your body since we will be working muscle groups you didn't know you have or don't actively use. We will have guest instructors and speakers dropping in throughout the week to cover as many topics as possible! What you will need: An open mind, a water bottle, student size finger cymbals, a notebook and pen. *Healthy Snacks provided What you should wear: Comfy, moveable clothes. Yoga-wear. :::Schedule::: Monday-Friday, July 18th-22nd, 12:00-4:00 PM daily 12:00-1:00...Warm up and Drills 1:00-2:00...Talking Circle (Dance History, Music lesson, etc.) 2:00-2:15...Snack Break 2:15-4:00...Choreography ***Schedules may vary day to day.
