STEM Summer Academy for High School Students - Presented by Bytes & Bots

Bytes & Bots STEM Summer Academy for High School StudentsLocated at Irvine Valley College’s new School of Integrated Design, Engineering and Automation There are 4 different week-long camps starting July 8th thru August 2nd Week 1 // July 8th - 12th // $795* Topic: Electronic Engineering I Students learn to interpret electronic schematics, understand selected electronic components and AC and DC power distribution. They then design a printed circuit board and generate its Gerber files that will be used to professionally fabricate the board. In preparation for Electronic Engineering II, they also learn the basics of coding, cross-compiling, downloading, and debugging simple C/C++ embedded computer programs. Skills Outcome: Identify, Describe, and Use basic electronic components. Understand and use AC and DC power Embedded computer ASIC PCB Program in C/C++ Debugging https://bytesandbots.com/products/electronics-engineering-high-school-summer-academy-at-ivc-atep Week 2 // July 15th - 19th // $795 Topic: Design Thinking & Engineering Innovation How can you “Dream Big” and create ideas that have global impact for positive change? What skills are needed for the 21st Century worker and entrepreneur? What tools are involved in the process of design and innovation and which tools are necessary to bring an idea to life? How does one find their career choice and passion in life? Skills Outcome: Design Thinking Modules: Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test New World of Work, 21st Century Employability Skills: Adaptability, Analysis, Collaboration, Communication, Digital Fluency, Empathy, Entrepreneurial Mindset, Resilience, Self-Awareness, Social Diversity. STEAM Career Exploration, focused on Engineering Technologies, including: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Aviation, Automation, Robotic, and Electronic.
