Girl Scout Central Six-Week Summer Series

School’s out! But your child can still flex their STEM muscles at Girl Scout Central. Join us Tuesday evenings from July 9 through August 13 for a six-week series featuring our most popular and new STEM activities. Each week your child will take home a project made during the activity. July 9: NEW! Create a Living Mini-Garden We’ll walk you through the simple and fun process of creating a living mini-garden, using succulents, an array of mosses, colored stones, and miniature decorations. You’ll also learn about the benefits of gardening and indoor plants. July 16: NEW! Build a Solar All-Terrain Vehicle This vehicle is powered solely by solar energy. Learn about mechanical transmission theory while building your vehicle. July 23: NEW! Kitchen Science Experiment Perform amazing science experiments with everyday household materials. We’ll provide the baking soda and vinegar to build a tabletop volcano that erupts with bubbly “lava”! July 30: Build and Race a Flywheel Cruiser Create a flywheel cruiser using a provided 58-piece Lego Gadgets kit. Race your flywheel cruiser against other kids’ cruisers for the chance to win prizes. August 6: Build a Doodling Robot Resembling a wacky spider, this robot doodles and draws spectacular designs to inspire young artistic minds. The adjustable height and angle of the pens make the robot spin and shake to construct new patterns. August 13: NEW! Make Glow-in-the-Dark Thinking Putty Mix your own hues of putty as you explore color theory. Get creative and share your creations in personalized Thinking Putty tins! Children five to seven years old can participate with the assistance of an adult. Adults assisting children do not need a ticket. Registration is required to participate, and there’s a $20 fee for each activity. Don’t miss out—claim your spot today!
