Bayologist Marine Camp - Green Below the Blue

Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserves Marine Bayologist Day Camp *Adventurous children ages 6 - 12 are invited to join the program! SUMMER DAYS 2019 This summer fill your child's memories with the sound of seagulls, the smell of salty air and water, the tickling of a crab in their hand, the wind on their cheeks and the excitment of traveling Biscayne Bay by boat.   Their Sense of Place will be enriched as they learn about where they live, the past and present of Biscayne Bay and the vitality of life just beneath the surface.   This June, the Bayologists will discover the GREEN BELOW THE BLUE, as they learn all about seagrasses and algaes that depend on the shallow seas of the bay to thrive.   Every session, the Bayologists enjoy boating the bay, wading and walking the shoreline and dipping their nets below the surface to study and identify different species of wildlife. Through an experiential program that combines active environmental games, hands-on art and science activities, and visits from local scientists and activists, the children will discover the wonders and vitality of Biscayne Bay. Each camper becomes an environmental steward through Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserves.The Bayologists gain perspective and understand how their actions affect the environment around them. When a camper attends one week of each season – Winter, Spring and Summer...they earn their BBAP Junior Bayologist Certificate- complete with an achievement ceremony and photo with a BBAP Biologist.
