Camps for Creatives: Design Hero

July 1 to 3 Design Hero (*Ages 5-8) We are super excited to add a late option to our summer camp offerings, specifically for younger creatives.  In Design Hero we'll tap into the super powers hidden within our imaginations.  Campers will develop a new super hero, mash up two existing super heroes, or reimagine an existing super hero.  We'll design poses, sound effects, and logos before learning the basics of sewing and producing our super hero capes. Our environmentally friendly capes will be made with organic cotton and hemp fabrics. This camp will be led by Sara Donhost, an amazing elementary teacher at a local indepedent School. Designer: Michael J Donhost, Lead Learning Designer at Square School. This camp is designed for young people between the ages of 5-8, though we may accept a few older campers as junior couselors to help facilitate the design process.  Camp hours are 9:00am to 3:30pm on Monday and Tuesday, and 9:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, with an aftercare option (including Wednesday afternoon) for an hourly charge. This camp is priced at $250, with discounts for early enrollment and adjusted rates for families that demonstrate a financial need. In addition to working on our main projects, we’ll eat and play in a local park, and have shorter experiences to develop interest in the process of design.
