Understanding the College Admissions Process - Essay, Applications, and Test Scores Embrace Tutoring will be hosting a free informational event where all parents and students are welcome to come and speak with former Stanford Faculty Liaison, Mr. Anthony Weinkopff, and Dr. Kevin Bukatman, Director of College Planning Service America. Date: Tuesday, June 25th Time: 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm (presentation), 7:45 pm - 8:30 pm FAQ Handouts and College Prep Checklists will be provided to those attending. Parents and students are encouraged to ask questions throughout the presentation. Topics include but not limited to:  Intro: There’s a College for Everyone Visiting Colleges (Tours; Interviews; Demonstrated Interest; Thank You Cards) Going Over the Transcript and Test Scores (Course-load and GPA; SAT v. ACT; Subject Tests and AP Tests) What Else Matters to Colleges? (Extra-curricular activities, demonstrated interest, essays, letters of recommendation) How to Apply (Common Application; Coalition Application; Institutional Application) Understanding differences between Early Action and Early Decision Writing Great Essays When to Begin Seats are limited and RSVP is required for this event. Meet the Presenters Mr. Anthony Weinkopff Anthony Weinkopff is a former Faculty Research Liaison at Stanford University for High School Auxillary Programs, Educator, and Co Founder of Embrace Tutoring and Educational Services located throughout PA, NY, NJ, and CT. As an edcuational consultant who has fielded thousands of academic plans, Anthony has valuable knowledge and insight into the highly-selective college application process. Dr. Kevin Bukatman Dr. Kevin L. Bukatman, Founder and President of College Planning Service America, has been a consultant for families of college-bound students since 2006. He obtained his master’s degree and doctorate from Boston College. For eighteen years, he was an educator and administrator for several private schools and public school districts in Boston and New York. He was a summer sleep away camp director and has dedicated his professional life to working with high school and college-aged students and their families to enhance their learning experiences and provide crucial information to create their personal and professional success. His patient and compassionate manner makes him a favorite with both parents and students, and his sense of humor makes a stressful process much easier to navigate. His daughter Allison graduated from SUNY Oneonta in May, 2013, so he has an intimate knowledge of the financial aid process and how to make it work successfully for you.
