Nature Art Summer Camp Ages 5-8

NATURE ART SUMMER CAMP FOR AGES 5-8   COST: $20 (Materials Included) Join EverydayHUMANE in connecting to nature through the experience of creating Earth Art through our first Nature Art Summer Camp beginning this June.  Our goal is to meet in local, natural spaces. The sky is our ceiling, the trees are our walls, and the floor is the living Earth. In these multi-day camps we will enjoy nature walks, take in sustainability lessons, play games and craft artworks from natural and recycled materials. We love to connect our artworks to the current seasons, moon cycles or natural rhythms of the environment we live in. In this we can often find gratitude, new awareness and peace in syncing into our own natural rhythm.  Some examples of art projects include: Nature Mandalas & Earth Looms – Lessons & Activities centering on Seasons or Native PlantsDreams Catchers – Stories of the Dream Catcher LegendRiver Stones – Lesson on Water ConservationCommunity Heart Art – Stories & Lessons on UnityRecycled Paper Mache Bowls – Lessons focused on RecyclingJourney Sticks – Stories of how Indigenous people used Journey Sticks. Why Nature Art?  Our workshops offer children the opportunity to create art projects from natural and recycled materials. When possible we collect materials in nature and love weaving sustainability lessons into our craft projects. It is our intention to use art as a vehicle for re-connecting us back to nature and our innate wildness. There is something magical in combining nature and art. It returns us to the simplicity and wonder of nature. Creating earth based art crafts are a great way to promote sustainability and encourage the exploration of the magic of Mother Nature. From this comes an understanding of how special our environment is and how important it is to take care of it. We Are All Artists. We don't believe in giving art lessons. We believe in offering tools, supplies, some guidance and letting creativity run wild. There is no good art or bad art. No right or wrong way. It's all about having fun and expressing yourself. What we love, we are likely to protect, and to love something we must know it.  Natural settings afford the children direct experience with a world not made by humans where we can feel ourselves a part of a larger community of life. Please come dressed for the weather. Snacks and water are suggested. Parents are welcome to stay :)
