Mt. Carmel UMC Summer Camp 2019 Registration

Mt. Carmel UMC is happy to present our 2019 summer day camp series.  This year we'll be hosting two of our favoriate camps. Summer camps include Music Arts and Drama starting Monday 6/17 - Friday 6/21 and Farm 2 Table starting Monday 7/15 - Friday 7/19. Both camps will be available for elementary age children.  Note: The Farm 2 Table Camp age varies slightly to rising 1st graders through rising 8th graders due to the nature of the camp activities. The cost is for each camp is only $75 per week and includes a non-refundable $25 deposit, beverages and 2 healthy snacks each day, plus staff fees and supplies. Registration closes at 12:00 noon on the Friday before each camp starts. Registration fees after cut-off date is $100. Please call to see if space is available. Carmel UMC, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.  Our first camp of the 2019 summer series will be our MAD CAMP (Music Arts and Drama) for rising K- 6th graders starting Monday June 17 - Friday June 21, 2019 from 9 am - 5 pm. Please note the age group is slightly different than the other camps. This is an elementary age camp. We will receive those entering Kindergarten going up to 6th grade. We believe every child is a star and every child has been given a part to play in this world. MAD camp offers the opportunity for children to reach their potential in the areas of music, art, and drama. This is our fourth year of working with professional music, theater, and art teachers from the Winston-Salem and Forsyth County Schools. This year's musical is called "Treasure Island".  In just 5 days, the students will produce a musical including set and lighting design. A performance will be open to the community at 7pm on that Friday night. Our second camp of the summer series will be the “Farm 2 Table” Day Camp for rising 1st - 8th graders starting Monday July 15 - Friday July 19, 2019 from 8 am - 3 pm. This year's theme is entitled "Treasures in the Field." This is an elementary and middle school aged camp. Please note the age group is extended for this camp to rising 8th graders but will not include Pre-K or Kindergarten students due to the nature of this camp. There will be a field trip to a farm included in this camp. Campers will learn hands-on programs from local farmers, extension agents, and nutrition experts. They will try their hand at gardening, as well as cooking and canning fresh produce. They may also visit local farms to see where our food comes from and how it gets shipped to market. In our taste test kitchen your child will learn to eat a new vegetable or fruit! What we do know is that your child will learn what the fruits are of the spirit and the characteristics God wants to grow in him/her. The kids will build a farmer’s market to display their home cooked goods and canned produce at the end of the week. Come early to get the best pick of the day! After Camp care is available for the Farm 2 Table Camp from 3pm-6pm for those enrolled in the day camp at an additional rate of $50 per child. Sorry, no sibling discounts apply for the after camp care program.
