Master Don's Urban Exploration and Campout Summer Camp

Join us for Master Don's 5th Annual Summer Camp! It's a Blast! Master Don is a 4th degree blackbelt in the Korean defensive martial art of Tang Soo Do (Paks Karate) and a personal fitness intstructor/life coach. He has a passion for helping children find strength, discipline, and the right mindset while also enjoying life and being a kid. Master Don has been working with youth in the Urban Core for the past 26 years.     Possible activities may include but are not limited to: Karate instruction, Music lessons, Relay races, "Summer Olympics", basketball, soccer, ping pong championships, football, croquet, rocket making, kite flying, Arts and crafts, biking, storytelling, open mic, "game of stones" (a balancing game), swimming, dodgeball, gardening, fishing,...  Places we love to vist: Sally Corp., Main Library, Hemming Park, Sweet Pete's, Karpeles Museum, MOSH, MOCA, The Cummer Museum, Sun Ray Cinima, Klutho Park, Liberty Park, "Squishy Spinny" Park, Jumbo Shrimp games, American Beach, Hanna Park, The Jacksonville Zoo, Rollerskating, S-line, local pools, the Kennedy Center, community gardens.... We have had guest instructors such as: Pottery making, boat building, rocket making, pickle making, drumming lessons and more! We are serious about safety. Please make sure your child has a helmet. if you do not have one or can not afford one please let us know. Your child will need to bring: a bike, helmet, water bottle, hat, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, bathing suit, towel, and lunch! They are welcome to also bring a book they are reading, a favorite game etc. We will provide plenty of fresh fruit and/or other healthy snacks and Spring or purified water. Camper's spot is secured with pre-payment the Friday before the attending week starts. Sign up for as many weeks as you like at one time to secure your child’s spot. Campers can arrive any time after 7:45 am and must be picked up by 5:15 pm. Extended hours available for an extra $25/week. Campers meet at 2007 North Market Street each morning.  Cost is $125 per week.  Payment is accepted via Cash App, Paypal, Venmo, cash or check.  ([email protected], 904-993-0391) Camper can purchase bus pass directly from JTA or from Camp at $4.00 each. Some special events may require additional fees, but campers will be notified in advance.  Multi-camper discount offered.  Camper must be at least 5 years old. Campers must play well with others. This is an outdoor activities camp that includes swimming, biking, hiking, riding the bus. Foul language and aggressive behaviors by campers is not allowed Campers should bring their own lunch daily but fresh fruit and/or other healthy snacks will be provided. Registration and Liability Waiver will be sent via email, please bring the first day of camp or please plan to fill one out at the camp on the first day your child attends.  All events are subject to change due to weather, special events, or Master Don just changing his mind.  Camp dates:  Week 1: June 3 -12  Week 2: June 10 -14 Week 3: June 17 - 21 Week 4: June 24 - 28 Week 5: July 1 - 5 Week 6: July 8 -12 Campout (overnight) dates:  Friday June 21 and Friday July 12 (campers attending any Urban Exploration Camp week are invited to participate in the campouts) - Parents are encouraged to donate items for the cookout and to join us at the campouts.
