Coding for a Cause: Healthcare, Ages 11-13

Welcome back to another summer of youth coding education! For the very first time, the Marquette Technology Institute is proud to offer coding camps for older kids interested in coding! Coding for a Cause: Healthcare for incoming grades 6-8 or ages 11-13 is offered the week of July 15-19 with two identical sessions to choose from. Session 1 is offered from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., and session 2 is offered from 1 - 4 p.m. Each session is identical in content, please select the session that best fits your schedule.  Kids will learn the building blocks of web and mobile app development such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, user experience design, and more, and will be able to practically apply these concepts towards a healthcare-related problem they will solve using technology. Kids will work in groups on a project presenting a solution to a healthcare-related problem, and daily activities will include computer science unplugged activities, core concepts, and work on their project. Skills gained: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and how they apply to web and mobile app development and an understanding of a healthcare problem and how it could be solved using technology More Summer 2019 Coding Camps Looking for camps for other ages? We also offer camps for incoming grades 3-5/ages 8-10 and incoming grades 9-12/ages 14-17. Learn more here.  General Information All youth coding camps are taught by education professionals who have passed background checks. Campers can be dropped off up to 15 minutes prior to the start of camp, and campers must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after the end of each camp.
