City Kids' #DoMore24 Launch Party

As we approach United Way's 7th Annual #DoMore24 day of online giving, City Kids Wilderness Project will be kicking off our campaign in style, in The Wilderness Society's Ansel Adams gallery, as we celebrate all things outdoors! There will be FREE BEER, WINE, & SNACKS in addition to an exciting panel discussion focusing on the power of the outdoors and important issues surrounding accessibility, representation, and participation within the outdoor comumunity. Speakers include: Brittany Leavitt from Brown Girls Climb and Outdoor Afro, Dave Giacomin from UP | Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Adventure & Wellness Studio and the American Alpine Club, and more.  City Kids Wilderness Project provides 130 D.C. urban youth with intensive, long-term, outdoor and wilderness exposure programming with a goal of promoting leadership, self-confidence, resiliency, and lasting connections to nature. This #DoMore24, we have set an ambitious goal to raise $20,000 which would cover the cost for all 20 of our new applicants' flights from DC to Jackson, WY where they will embark upon their first 3-week summer camp experience and explore both Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Park! We are encouraging each person to make a small contribution to City Kids that evening ($24 for DoMore24), but with each $24 donation you make, you’ll earn additional raffle tickets and be entered in a prize give-away at the end of the evening. We have really great swag from The North Face and Patagonia, and more!
