Stand Up Summer Camp A camp for empowering young people to find their voice Theme: Finding Your Voice, Standing up for who you are and your community Activities: Week 1 Movement: Who are you when you move? How does your movement connect to others. Possible guest speaker a yoga teacher, a hip hop dancer or a cheerleader Week 2 Visual Who are you in what you see? How does your vision unique. Possible guest speaker: a painter or artist, a graphic designer, cartoon artist Week 3 Sound: Who are you in the sounds you hear? How does making your sound sounds/music shape who you are? Possible guest speaker: musician of any type who can bring in or make instruments. Week 4: Speak Who are you in the words you writer? How does writing give voice to who you are? Week 5: Putting it all together This week, young people will decide what they want to showcase, art, music, writing or dance All the week they will practice for the performance. They will also make a connection to what they chose and how they connect to God. At the end of the camp, the community with the guest speakers and the students will present a showcase night called Stand Up Summer Showcase.
