Join us to learn more about The Speech Garden Institute's Communication and Sensory Preschool and our Summer Camp Program! Continuing in our tradition of classroom-based communication therapy, The Speech Garden Institute offers an intensive preschool program to prepare children for Kindergarten.  THREE class options are available depending on your child's age, with the possibility of a two year old program depending on registration: Depending on registration - two year olds are taught beginning learning and school skills in small classrooms taught by speech-language pathologists.  Focus is on basic academics and "learning to learn". Children ages three and four learn in small classes, led by a speech-language pathologist.  Our preschool has a heavy focus on sensory needs, with much learning occurring outside and in other sensory environments.  Our program runs three half-days.   Children age four can opt for our four half-day a week option.  Smaller, more intensive practice of vocabulary, concepts, and beginning writing. Our Traditional Kindergarten focuses on preparing children for admission to kindergarten in a typical classroom with little or no extra support.  This class meets five half-days.  This class is also led by a certified SLP with a heavy focus on sensory and communicaiton needs.  All preschool classrooms offer embedded, extention programs like music therapy and occupational therapy, and include opportunities for Community Based Instruction, or Out And About Trips, to practice learned skills in real world environments.   Our Summer Camp Program is the perfect option to help improve communicaiton and social skills over the long summer months for children agest two to rising third grade.    Students are grouped according to their birthday. Maximum of 12 students in each class, with at least 3 staff members. Strutured schedule that combines language development with literacy, music, science, movement, and fun! Accomodations liek visual cues and graphic organizers embedded in curriculum to enhance learning and retention. We are sure that you have many questions, and we are happy to answer them.  Our website can provide you with some beginning information on both programs, but we would love to meet you in person and discuss your child and how each program might benefit them! Participants in this free session will learn: Our core beliefs and how they drive our program objectives. How we address communication and sensory delays in the classroom setting. Details on our academic and social curriculum. Why we spend so much time outside! How and why we partner with an existing preschool program. The admissions process and who attends and why. Details on the class options, staffing, and daily operations. How we address and incorporate sensory needs into our curriculum (with certified OT). Please plan to join us for a free information session to learn more.
