2019 Charity Easter Egg Hunt at Joslin Garden

Easter Egg Hunt at Joslin Garden Bring joy to your children this Easter and help children in need experience joy of their own! This year, on the Saturday before Easter, April 20th children, are invited to bring their Easter baskets and to come explore Joslin Garden while parents visit beautiful Joslin Garden, while helping a worthy cause. Younger children (six and under) will hunt for eggs in the patio and formal garden areas in a traditional easter egg hunt at 10:00 AM. Older children (six to ten) will go on a larger egg scavenger hunt along the forest trails of the garden, looking for eggs at 10:30AM. There will be other children's activities at the Garden at the time as the egg hunts. This year tickets for the Easter Egg Hunt will include a $10 donation to help children in local Raleigh homeless shelters to attend a week of summer camp through Raleigh’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources and the City of Oaks Foundation’s Give Play Program. Tickets are limited and all participants (Children, not adults) must have a ticket in order to participate. This event has sold out each year it has been held. Donations made to this charitable cause are not refundable. Children will receive candy in the hidden eggs. Questions? Call 919-996-4773. EVENT SPONSORED BY FAQs Where do we go? Please enter the property via the drive way on West Lake Drive, and head toward the tent beside the Joslin House. Do not enter the property via the trail on Gaddy Drive or through the garden paths, or your children will stumble across the eggs before the hunt begins. Where do I learn more about the charity? Please visit the City of Oaks Foundation's website at: https://cityofoaksfoundation.org/programs to learn more about the Give Play program, which provides financial aid to under resourced families in the Raleigh area so that their children can attend active outdoor summer camps. Funds raised from this year's easter egg hunt will be used specifically to provide these camp opportunities to children living in Raleigh area homeless shelters. Are there age requirements to enter the event? There are no minimum age limits, though the traditional egg hunt at 10:00 AM is intended for children younger than six, and toddlers should be assisted by an adult. The 10:30AM hunt is intended for children ages six to ten. Older may participate to assist younger siblings.    What are my parking options for the event? If you are driving the event, please park on West Lake Drive, on the side of the street opposite of the homes. No parking is permitted in front of the neighbors' homes.   What should I bring into the event? Please remember to bring an Easter basket for all children participating in one of the egg hunts. Please wear comfortable shoes for walking the garden paths and trails. Some areas of the garden, particularly the trails used for the second egg hunt, may not be accessible to those with limited mobility. Cameras and leashed pets are welcome. Depending upon the weather, you may wish to bring sunglasses or a hat. What bathrooms are available? Participants are always reminded to use the bathroom before arriving at the garden. A basement bathroom is available for emergencies. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please call us at 919-996-4773 or email [email protected].
