Experiential Farm Tours at Gorman Heritage Farm

Join us for a fun, hands-on, summertime visit to the Farm! We offer guided Experiential Farm Tours from 10 AM to Noon weekdays during the summer and by appointment during the year. Tours are designed for groups of 30 participants (plus teachers/chaperones). We offer a covered lunch space for picnics after the tour, as well as the option for an unguided hike of our beautiful tree-lined trails up to our overlook of Hamilton County. Participants in an Experiential Summer Farm Tour will be led by a Farm Teacher in activities including planting a seed, tasting a vegetable, interacting with our farm animals, exploring the history of the farm, learning about the food we produce, and experiencing the joys of agricultural living while taking in the beauty of the farm. FAQs   What is the price of the tour? Tour price is $7 per participant, and each tour has a $100 minimum.  Groups are required to provide a $100 deposit online prior to their tour to secure the date.  Tours must not exceed 30 child participants (not including parents/chaperones/teachers).  Groups may bring up to four adults (teachers/parent chaperones) for free. Educational paraprofessionals are always free and are not included in a chaperone count.  Additional parents/chaperones will pay an admission of $7 each.   What if we use a P.O. system? Email [email protected] to have an invoice generated. We will supply you with a code to ensure your selected date is reserved. We must receive your $100 deposit a minimum of 2 weeks before your Summer Farm Tour. What age groups may attend this program? Summer Farm Tours are for adults and children alike. We welcome camps and summer programs with children ages 4-12, but all ages are welcome for this guided tour through our gardens and farmyard. Tours can also be a fun team-building experience for corporate groups. What do I need to bring to the program? Visitors should wear appropriate and close-toed shoes to walk the farm: old tennis shoes or boots. We ask that children not wear flip-flops or open-toed shoes. Participants should prepare to be divided into groups of approximately 15. Camps and summer programs may have 15 children plus teachers and chaperones. We ask that all children, teachers, and chaperones wear NAMETAGS prominently at all times. Have cash, check, purchase order, or credit card ready for payment of balance (after deducting the $100 deposit) to Gorman Heritage Farm. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? We have paved parking available for buses and for private cars.   How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please contact [email protected] with any specific questions.  All registrations must be completed online, but specific requests are available.   What is the refund policy? Refunds are possible no later than 1 month in advance of the scheduled program.  If possible, deposits may be transferred to another date.  Our programs run rain or shine.  If we cancel your program due to severe weather, we will attempt to reschedule a date convenient to both parties.  If you cancel your field trip fewer than thirty days advance, we will not be able to provide an alternative date or a refund.   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.  We'll have your information here on the Farm, but please be sure to know what name the registration is under.   Can I update my registration information? No.  If you would like to alter your registration information, please contact us directly.  You will be asked for up-to-date participant numbers before the event.   Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? If possible and outside of 2 weeks prior to the tour, deposits are transferrable to another date.     Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Yes. Please be sure to know the name the registration is under.
