The Harrisburg Diabetic Youth Camp - Bethel, PA

The Harrisburg Diabetic Youth Camp (HDYC) is a week of fun activities for children (8-12) who just happen to have diabetes! The HDYC is like any other camp, but includes diabetes education into the schedule. Whether you're boating, swimming, or shooting archery, we hope to show campers can do anything while properly managing their diabetes. The HDYC has 24/7 medical coverage, including pediatric endocrinologists, to teach our campers that diabetes can be managed. While most have Type 1 Diabetes themselves, all counselors are educated both in policy and diabetes care. Meal time is designed by a head dietitian, assisted by student dietitians along the way.
