Herbal Wisdom for Kids Give your kids a summer experience they will LOVE at this Herb Camp for Kids. They will learn about the edible and healing ways of herbs through hands-on fun, play, and crafting taught by herbalists. Spark a passion for nature through this interactive learning experience. Your kids will learn: What are herbs and why do we use them? How do herbs make us well? Herbs as food and medicine Herbal crafts and activities During each day of camp, the kids will be introduced to a new herbal friend. They will learn how this herb will support them as food and medicine and they will make an herbal remedy or item of their own. This day camp experience will inspire kids to be lovers of nature and our healing plants through an immersion in the natural world, discovering their own relationship with plants, and experiencing plants where they grow in their natural setting. The camp for kids will be a blending of classroom setting for learning and crafts and time in nature at a local area park and nature center. Complete details of each days location will be sent to you prior to the start of camp. There are two camp sessions; session 1 for ages 6-9 and session 2 for ages 10-12. This allows kids to learn and experience in an age appropriate way and make friends while they learn. Each session will be rich with learning, play, fun, and discovery to cultivate budding herbalists and nature lovers. Session 1: Ages 6-9 June 5-8, 2017 10:00am-12:00pm, Monday-Thursday Registration deadline is May 29, 2017 Session 2: Ages 10-12 June 12-15, 2017 10:00am-12:00pm, Monday-Thursday Registration deadline is June 12, 2017 Cost: $119.00 Space is limited to 12 students per session, registration is required Sibling registrations (in the same age group session) will qualify for a $5.00 discount per child.
